Memory Stick

If you have a Digital Camera you may find that more often than not you need so easily move photos from one place to another (wheather it be someone else's computer, to the Club for a show, to/from a laptop and PC, take to the photo centre for printintg, etc.)  One of the easiest ways to do this is with a USB Memory Stick - see photo. They are relatively inexpensive ($20.00-90.00 (approx.) depending on size required.  Get the largest you can afford - you will find that you  will  need it sooner or later.  They come in sizes 0.5 Gig ( 512 M -see list below for storage) to 4 Gig. See list below for storage capacity. They are easy to load your files onto and off at the other end.  Most systems will accomadate them requiring a USB port; and they are compact.  (7.94mm x 20.6mm x 57.15mm) Easy to transport -usually comes with a nice lanyard or strap. One of the most common is by Sandisk, the same people who make most of the digital Camera memory cards you probably already use.  Other stuff than photos can be stored as well as (in combos) documents, pictures, music and video clips.  The new type has a retractable USB port which eliminates the need for caps and protects your USB connector.

I have used one of these since last Fall and have found it easy and extremely useful to transfer photos.   I have also used it to give photos to a friend, who can just take it to the processing company  to get their pictures printed and then returned it to me.  Once you have one you will find a lot  of uses and wonder why you didn't have one before.

What can I store on my Memory Stick.

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting".
